MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Paglaum Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia challenged workers in government to love their work to become more productive and efficient.
Unabia’s challenge came amid reports that some barangay chairman aren’t doing their best to serve their constituents.
The governor said to become more effective and results-oriented workers in government, they must learn to love their jobs and follow their mandate as government workers.
“Tanan nato nga pagabuhaton kinahanglan nga atong ibutang sa atong dughan para dili bug-at atong paglihok. Learn to love what you are doing.
Learn to love your work,” was the governor’s message during Monday’s regular convocation program at the Provincial Capitol grounds.
He said department heads must visit far-flung barangays and learn to know the problems of the people, their means of livelihood and their current living conditions.
In this way, the governor said, they can address the problems of the poorest of the people in their respective barangays very effectively.

The governor also said that the province is bent on helping the people of the province who are victimized by loan sharks.
The provincial government, Unabia said, intends to lend money to small and medium business owners in the amount of P10,000 each. “We have already identified more or less 1000 SMEs that will be given assistance of P10,000 each as their added business capital,” Unabia said. ###
