KAGAYAN Educational Theater Productions (KETP), a community-based theater organization committed to promoting artistic excellence, cultural appreciation, and social responsibility through the performing arts, has partnered with the City Education and Development Office (CEDO) to stage “SAYAWIT: A Pop Rock Musical.”
Presented as part of the official lineup for the Higalaay Festival 2026, this original Filipino production combines music and storytelling to raise funds for Last Mile Schools in Cagayan de Oro City.
Scheduled for September 7 to 9, 2026, at Rodelsa Hall, the musical spotlights homegrown local performers while bringing the community together through local art.
KETP has committed to allocating net proceeds from the production directly to these identified last mile schools.
Following the final performances and financial review, funds will be distributed through CEDO to purchase essential learning materials and upgrade school facilities for local students.
In addition to addressing educational needs, the musical aims to elevate the local performing arts scene, build stronger partnerships between community groups and local government, and show how theater can serve as an effective tool for social advocacy. SAYAWIT brings together arts, education, and community service to create a meaningful social impact while celebrating the creative talent of Kagay-anons.
Led by playwright and director Joven Amplayo and musical director Giddy Nalogon, the show features original pop-rock music and dynamic stage direction.
The project leverages theater to support students in geographically isolated and underserved areas who often lack basic learning resources and modern facilities.
Tickets are ₱220 for students, PWDs, and senior citizens, and ₱250 for regular admission. You may purchase your tickets online or call 09531165462 or 09161464630 for more information.
