THE Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 10 led by executive director Henry Adornado, Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 10 led by director Reynaldo Digamo and Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) 10 led by director Rodante Felina held a two-day mobile permits processing aptly called DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels.
A project which started under current Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna, DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels is meant to cut bureaucratic crap and grant one’s permit in a day.
The agency provides application processing on site, real time validation and one to one technical assistance for environmental permits covering air and water quality management, chemicals management, environmental impact assessment, hazardous waste management, wildlife regulation and other related requirments.
Digamo said that in particular, EMB will be processing environmental compliance certificates, certificate of land coverage, accreditation of pollution control officers, application for transport of hazardous wastes and more.
He said that applicants submitted all their required documents as well as payment online prior and all they need to receive at the site is the approved permit.
As of 12 noon on April 14, there were already 96 permits granted by the agency in the two-day activity held at SM CDO Downtown in Cagayan de Oro City.
Along this line, Digamo expressed his gratitude to the management of SM CDO Downtown for allowing DENR to hold its event at the premises for the convenience of the public which came all the way from as far as Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon.
For his part, Felina said MGB has been processing mining permit applications, industrial sand and gravel permit, area status clearance, ore transport permit, safety inspectors permit, mineral processing permit, safety engineers permit, mechanical installation permit, electrical installation permit, deputation of geodetic engineers and more.
DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels runs until today at the fifth level of SM CDO Downtown.
