GENERAL SANTOS CITY – On July 3, 2024, Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU-Gensan) commemorated a significant achievement with the GUMNE KALINAW Turnover Ceremony, hosted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The event marked the completion and official handover of a new faculty facility, symbolizing a milestone in collaborative efforts between the DPWH and the university.
Chancellor JD Usman D. Aragasi, MPA, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the DPWH for their dedication throughout the project. He highlighted the facility’s importance in enhancing MSU-Gensan’s infrastructure and creating an optimal environment for faculty members. Chancellor Aragasi emphasized the partnership’s role in fostering progress and collaboration within the academic community.
Engr. Jonathan Bantug, District Engineer of DPWH 1st Engineering District, delivered the turnover speech, emphasizing that the building was constructed in strict compliance with the Building Code of the Philippines. He assured the audience of the structure’s safety and durability, underscoring the meticulous planning and execution that ensured the project’s success. Engr. Bantug praised the cooperative efforts between DPWH and MSU-Gensan as crucial to achieving the project’s goals.
Dr. Jovar G. Pantao, President of MSU-Gensan Faculty Union, delivered the acceptance speech, extending gratitude to the DPWH for their support. He reiterated the university’s commitment to maximizing the new facility’s potential to enhance academic excellence. Dr. Pantao highlighted the facility’s positive impact on faculty members, envisioning it as a hub for collaboration and educational advancement.
The ceremony culminated in the symbolic turnover of the facility’s key, marking its official handover to MSU-Gensan amidst the presence of faculty, students, and officials.
