THREE 4-wheel tractor units and 100 coconut seedlings from the Department of Agriculture (DA) – Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), along with eight composting facilities for biodegradable waste from DA – Bureau of Soils and Water Management were formally turned over on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Unity Hall inside the provincial capitol.
DA 10 regional executive director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan stated that they have confidence in the provincial government that all invested resources and programs will be properly implemented with the hope that they will be used correctly.
Governor Juliette T. Uy expressed her deep gratitude for the generous support from the mentioned agencies, emphasizing that this initiative is aimed at advancing a progressive and productive agricultural sector.

She urged all beneficiaries to value and take good care of the equipment they received.
Messages were also conveyed by DA-PhilMech Mindanao A cluster head Engr. Edgar B. Testa and DA-BSWM Project Assistant IV Jose Ariel Almeda regarding the significance of this activity.

This turnover is part of the program under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund which aims to improve farm mechanization and increase rice production efficiency in the province.
Moreover, this distribution serves as a starting point for technology innovation to promote soil health, zero-waste management, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
It also means lower production costs and higher income generation for farmers.
The beneficiaries of the three tractors are:
Tabok, Lagonglong United Farmers Association
Loguillo Irrigators Service Association Inc. in Alubijid and Naawan Farmers Irrigators Association.
The eight composting facilities went to:
Kalipay National High School, Gingoog City
Sioan Gintong Araw Agriculture Cooperative, Gingoog City Dasig Agriculture Cooperative, Gingoog City Kamada Arc Cooperative, Balingoan
Barangay Balagnan, Balingasag University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Claveria Conservation Agriculture with Trees Learning Center, Claveria Toburan Mapulog-Maputi Arc Marketing Cooperative, Naawan Representatives Dasig Agriculture Cooperative Chairperson Cristina Paluga Odchigue, Naawan Farmers Irrigators Association President Celso Dadang, and Kalipay National High School School Head Roel M. Balan all expressed that the assistance they received was extremely helpful.
They also felt genuine care, noting that their needs were not forgotten and were properly addressed.
