ALL transmission lines were not affected by Severe Tropical Storm Crising (international name Wipha), but monitoring continues to ensure safety given the heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat).
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said grid operations nationwide “remain normal and stable.”
“All NGCP transmission facilities are currently under normal conditions. We remain ready to activate the 24/7 operations of our OCmC (overall command center) should any threats to transmission operations arise due to the monsoon rains and other weather disturbances,” it said.
“NGCP assures the public of its steadfast commitment to grid stability, readiness, and quick response in the face of potential disruptions due to natural calamities.”
“Crising” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday morning but heavy monsoon rains continue to drench most parts of the country.
The weather bureau raised a heavy rainfall outlook for Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Pangasinan, Tarlac, and Occidental Mindoro for the day. (PNA)
