STATEMENT OF Rep. ZIA ADIONG REGARDING STATUS OF WATER SYSTEM IN LANAO DEL SUR
“Ironically, while I was at the Tri-Committee Hearing against the Proliferation of Fake News this afternoon, it was brought to my attention that I was yet again victimized by fake news. THESE ALLEGATIONS ARE COMPLETELY FALSE AND BASELESS. Ito ay pawang kasinungalingan. This is nothing but fake news designed to tarnish my name.
This means we craft laws to ensure the complete and peaceful transition to the new Bangsamoro Government. Malinaw na ang mga gumagawa ng paninira na ito ay walang alam sa pinakasimpleng detalye ng pamamahala ng BARMM. I repeat, as a former member of the BTA, I HAVE NO INVOLVEMENT, NO PARTICIPATION in any shape or form in the identification of projects, the release of funding, or the utilization of these funds.
To drag me into this issue is a malicious and politically motivated act, aimed at distracting from the real issues and undermining the progress we are making in the region.
As Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Marawi Rehabilitation and Victims Compensation during the 19th Congress, I am committed to overseeing the city’s recovery to ensure transparency and efficiency. During our rigorous oversight efforts, including the House of Representatives’ historic first public hearing in Marawi City, the implementing agencies provided verified reports, backed by comprehensive documentation, confirming that 95% of the PHP 400 million water expansion project has been completed. We congratulate the implementing agencies on achieving this milestone. It is to their credit alone, as I HAVE COMPLETELY NOTHING TO DO with allocating or managing the funds for the implementation of this or any project during my service in the BTA.
I stand firm in my commitment to transparency, accountability, and service to the people. That is why I am fully committed to fighting the spread of falsehoods and wrong information. I call on those spreading these falsehoods to stop this type of irresponsible behavior aimed at misleading the public. Tama na ang pagsisinungaling ninyo. The people deserve nothing but the truth.”
