Rotary Club of Golden Friendship Holds Turnover Ceremony and Induction of New Members for RY 2025–2026

Cagayan de Oro City — July 18, 2025 — At only three years old, the Rotary Club of Golden Friendship has already made a lasting mark in the community with its smart and sustainable service projects across Rotary’s seven areas of focus.

Carrying the proud name “Golden Friendship,” after the vibrant moniker of Cagayan de Oro City, the club continues to embody service and fellowship in every initiative.

The Turnover Ceremony and Induction of New Members, held at Palladium Hall, Mallberry Hotel, was a night of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment to Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.” The event honored the leadership of Outgoing President Jessie Tolod, whose term in RY 2024–2025 guided the club through meaningful community projects and strengthened member engagement.

In his message, Tolod expressed heartfelt gratitude:

“It has been my privilege to serve alongside dedicated men and women who share a passion for making a difference. I am thankful for the trust given to me, the support of our members, and the partnerships we’ve built in the community. Together, we have planted seeds of change, and I am confident these will continue to grow under new leadership.”
The evening also welcomed Incoming President Haidee “Bong” Rodriguez, who will lead the club for RY 2025–2026 with the theme “Unite for Good.” In her acceptance speech, Rodriguez shared her vision:

“Our journey ahead is about expanding Rotary’s reach, deepening our impact, and uniting hearts for a common good. With an active membership, a committed leadership team, and strong ICT and Public Image committees, I believe the Rotary Club of Golden Friendship will continue to thrive and serve with excellence.”

A highlight of the program was the induction and recognition of new members, marking a growing and vibrant fellowship that will strengthen the club’s ability to serve the community. The addition of new Rotarians symbolizes the club’s commitment to nurturing leaders who share the same values of service, integrity, and fellowship.

Adding prestige to the occasion was the presence of District Governor Marlowe Selecios and Lady Mai Selecios, Immediate Past District Governor Hubert Quiblat, Past District Governor Teresita Navales, and City Councilor Jon Rodriguez, along with other Rotary leaders, government representatives, and community partners. Their attendance underscored the club’s growing reputation and strong ties within District 3870 and the local community.

Special recognitions were also given to outstanding members whose contributions brought the club closer to its goals. As the gavel was passed, so was the torch of leadership — with a shared commitment to build on the past year’s accomplishments and to create lasting, positive change in the community.
