CDO’s taxi federation to introduce electric vehicles soon

THE largest group of public taxicabs in Region 10 will introduce its own fleet of electric vehicles by January.

Cagayan First Taxi Drivers Alliance (CAFITADA) president Bernie Jamaca said his group will be partnering with ride hailing app Hail PH in acquiring the initial 100 units.

It can be recalled that CAFITADA was vocally opposing the entry of another electric vehicle taxi fleet in Cagayan de Oro City, alleging that Green GSM is not locally owned and has no right to operate in the country.

But with this new development, Jamaca said he is confident that they can provide passengers the competitive edge with these brand new electric units.

CAFITADA is composed of four cooperatives comprising 157 operators and 1,280 current units of traditional taxis.

According to its Facebook page, Hail PH offers a drive to own zero downpayment program and TNVS franchise ready making it attractive to operators all over the Philippines.
