THE main opposition party PDP will accept applicants this Saturday (March 26) during the 81st birthday celebration of former President and concurrent Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
This was announced by Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Joyleen Mercedes Balaba during an interview Thursday after their weekly plenary.
Earlier last week, PDP released a video identifying the new set of chatper officers of PDP in Cagayan de Oro City now chaired by Balaba.
Among those in the picture were fellow Councilor Enrico Salcedo, Barangay 17 chair Anthony Atterviry, barangay Lumbia administrator Aerol Torralba, erstwhile media personality Domer Postrero, Radyo Natin Cagayan de Oro manager Ronald Rufin and others.
This early, PDP is already preparing to support the 2028 presidential candidacy of Vice President Sara Duterte and has consolidated its ranks nationwide.
The 81st birthday celebration of the Vice President’s father in Cagayan de Oro City will be a daylong one to be held at Kiosko Kagawasan right at the heart of Divisoria.
The venue is a significant one. In 2016, it is here when the then presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte won the Kagay-anons’ hearts during his campaign sortie who eventually helped him catapult to the presidency.
In the morning, Balaba is encouraging all kindhearted Kagay-anons to register as applicants for PDP.
The only requirements – must be a resident of Cagayan de Oro City and a citizen of good standing.
PDP was born here in Cagayan de Oro City in 1983. Today, it is still chaired by the former President.
By evening, it will be a night of festivities and music with 81 cakes prepared for the beloved former President.
There will also be performances by Waway Saway, Arthur James, Shania Obidos and Tribu CDO.
