In celebration of National Women’s Month, the local government held a job fair through the Job Placement Bureau – Public Employment and Services Office (JPB-PESO) on Thursday, March 26.
One of the beneficiaries, Aren Dale Edorot, expressed gratitude after being hired on the spot as an encoder at Ororama Supercenter Inc.
“I’m very thankful that I got the job. Thank you, Mayor Klarex, for organizing a job fair here in CDO,” Edorot said.
The job fair was also supported by the Department of Labor and Employment Region X, the Department of Migrant Workers Region X, and Robinsons Cagayan de Oro.
A total of 3,901 job vacancies were offered, including 1,901 local employment opportunities from 50 local employers and 1,508 overseas positions from 3 international employers.
Aside from the job fair, a one-stop-shop program was also available, where national government agencies provided services such as inquiries on vocational courses from TESDA Region X, job applications for the Philippine National Police, enrollment in free Safety Officer Training from the Occupational Safety and Health Center, free TIN verification from the Bureau of Internal Revenue Region X, and more.
The Women’s Month job fair was led by the LGU of Cagayan de Oro through the Job Placement Bureau – Public Employment Service Office (JPB-PESO), the City Gender and Development Office, and the Department of Labor and Employment Region X.
The event aimed to provide job opportunities for those in need, especially women.
