CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board regional office 10 (LTFRB-10) has announced on launching innovative projects with the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority in Northern Mindanao. (TESDA-10).
The project, it was learned, will benefit the drivers and their families. Although, it was not clear what it will be but Tesda will help enhance the skills and knowledge of the drivers in effectively serving the community.
Aside from the technical training, both LTFRB and Tesda will make sure that education and opportunity will reach every household. LTFRB and TESDA is also rolling out scholarships for the drivers’ family members.
What is TESDA?
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is the government agency tasked to manage and supervise technical education and skills development (TESD) in the Philippines. It was created by virtue of Republic Act 7796, otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”. The said Act integrated the functions of the former National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC), the Bureau of Technical-Vocational Education of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (BTVE-DECS) and the Office of Apprenticeship of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). –(JCE)
