Lagbas graces Women’s Month culmination at Capitol

HUNDREDS of women gathered during the Women’s Congress 2026 in the province on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.

This is in line with the annual celebration of National Women’s Month, with the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.”

The event aims to give value and importance to all women in the province.

The activity was led by the province’s first lady, Governor Juliette Uy, together with 1st District Congresswoman Atty. Karen Lagbas, Board Member Princess Emano, Board Member Jabi Bernaldez, mayors, and other invited guests.

A dance contest was also held as part of the entertainment for the event, with nineteen (19) municipalities participating.

The municipality of Villanueva emerged as the champion and received ₱25,000. Meanwhile, Tagoloan placed 1st and received ₱20,000; Lugait was 2nd placer and received ₱15,000; Opol was 3rd placer; and consolation prizes of ₱5,000 were also given.

A raffle draw was also held, where many participants received cash prizes of ₱1,000, ₱2,000, ₱3,000, and ₱5,000.

In addition, gift packs were distributed as a symbol of appreciation for their active participation and continued support for government programs.

It is worth noting that the Provincial Capitol, under the leadership of Governor Juliette Uy, continues to show support—demonstrating the local government’s commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of women, and to further expanding programs and services that provide more opportunities, protection, and empowerment for women across Misamis Oriental.
