MISAMIS Oriental Governor-elect Juliette Uy is expected to review the joint venture agreement that the outgoing Unabia administration has inked with A Brown Co., Inc. once she assumes office this June 30.
Special assistant to the governor-elect Popoy Abucejo said in a press conference June 11 that the review will determine on whether the joint venture agreement is for the best interest of the province.
The joint venture agreement which was signed January 23 involves the construction of of a high-rise multi-purpose building, commercial and office buildings, a dormitory and a public park within the capitol compound in Cagayan de Oro City.
In a related development, Abucejo said all job order and casual employees of the provincial government whose contracts will end on June 30 can reapply.
Per normal local bureaucratic process, job order and casual employees only have six months tenure before being renewed.
Abucejo said that if the more than 2,000 job order and casual employees are willing to work with the Uy administration, they are most welcome to be absorbed.
“This is on the condition nga basi sa panginahanglan ug sa ilang qualification,” Abucejo said. “For example, di man puwede maundang ang serbisyo sa atong mga hospital.”
Misamis Oriental operates seven provincial hospitals whose nurses are all casual employees.
Abucejo and the rest of of Uy’s transition team trooped to the provincial capitol today for a supposed turnover of documents from the Unabia administration.
But in a text message, the transition team of outgoing Gov. Peter Unabia assured that all documents will be ready within the last week of this month.
“Agreement with DILG will be on the last week of June. We are still on th process of completion of the Docs as required by DILG MC 2025-016. Daghan kaayu reports needed,” they stated.
