THE Cagayan de Oro City Water District (COWD) held a commissioning ceremony today, October 9, 2025, at Bolao, Barangay Iponan, for the additional 4.32 Million liters per day (MLD) bulk water supply purchased from South Balibago Resources, Inc. (SBRI).
This milestone highlights COWD’s commitment to enhancing water security and service reliability for residents and businesses in Cagayan de Oro City.
The event was graced by City Mayor Hon. Rolando “Klarex” Uy, together with the COWD Board of Directors and Management, Barangay Iponan officials, and representatives from South Balibago Resources, Inc. led by branch manager Tommy Tamayo.
In his message, Mayor Uy expressed his happiness and gratitude, saying that he is very thankful to God that the time has finally arrived when a solution to the water problem has been realized.
“We have found a way. This is a very big help because this supply is intended solely for Barangay Iponan, which is one of the city’s barangays with many residents and subdivisions,” the Mayor said.
