KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Sur – Mayor Raida Bansil Maglangit said that the “rido” problem in her town contributed to the slow development and progress.
She hopes that soon the “rido” will be stopped and people must move on to modern civilization. “But we are doing our best for the peaceful resolution of this rido problem between muslim families.”
“Dito sa atin masyadong mataas ang rido. Yan po ang hindrance ng development sa ating lungsod,” the mayor said.
But the mayor clarified that there are still development happening coming from the Bangsamoro Autonomous in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
Currently, the mayor said BARMM has constructed a gymnasium for use by the local government as well as by any other non-government organizations.
The gym will cost P3-Million for the completion and the said project will be funded by the 20 percent development funds of the province of Lanao del Sur.
GADGETS CONTROL
In regards to the use of mobile phones which addicted younger generations, the PNP in the province has strictly monitored.
Mayor Raida said the municipality has enacted an ordinance regulating the over-use of mobile phones and related issues, which hampered the productivity of people.
DRUG PROBLEM
The mayor said Kapatagan is a drug-cleared municipality and there is not much problem in her hometown.
“Lately, may dumaan dito sa Kapatagan na may dalang pitong sako yata na droga worth at least P500,000. Mabuti nalang na-intercept ng pulisya at nahuli,” Mayor Raida concluded.
