THE 2024 National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) will be held in
Cagayan de Oro City from November 27-30, 2024, marking a significant milestone as it is
the first tine the event will be hosted in Mindanao.
Organized by the Department of Science
and Technology-Region 10 (DOST 10), this year’s NSTW will emphasize S&T innovations,
with special focus on technologies that contribute to the green economy and biodiversity.
One of the key highlights of the event will be the active participation of five Mindanao
consortia NOMCAARRD, CCAARRD, SMAARRDEC, SOXAARRDEC and WESMAARRDEC.
These consortia, along with their respective consortium member institutions, will showcase a variety of sustainable technologies and products in the agriculture, aquatic and natural resources sectors, which aim to increase
awareness and encourage the adoption of green economy practices across the region.
This year’s theme Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa,
at Panatag na Kinabukasan with the sub-theme Providing Solutions and Opening
Opportunities in the Green Economy will serve as the backdrop for the diverse exhibits and
activities.
Technologies presented will include innovations in waste management, renewabl energy and biodiversity preservation, designed to support sustainable development and foster eco-friendly practices.
The Mindanao consortia will feature a range of cutting-edge technologies such as: pyanggang (a sustainable poultry farming innovation by NOMCAARRD), squopia (squash hopia) and more.
The Limketkai Center will host the exhibits, where over 150 innovations will be showcased.
Visitors can also attend 33 fora and technology pitching sessions, including specialized
