CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY— The Office of the Vice President hosted the annual OVP Pride Reception on Tuesday in support of LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity, aligning with Pride Month observed every June at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.
Recognizing the resilience and achievements of LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, 20 members from Cagayan de Oro City received P15,000.00 each through the Mag Negosyo ta ‘Day grants.
These grants aim to sustain microenterprises such as sari-sari stores, food vending, beauty salons and parlors, and hair and makeup services.
This year’s event was organized in partnership with LGBT Pilipinas, Inc. The reception was graced by advocates, LGBT community leaders, and allies striving for equality.
This is the second Pride Reception event hosted by the OVP. Last year, four organizations and groups received a total of P150,000 for their respective businesses.
The OVP Pride Reception aims to amplify voices, raise awareness, and foster dialogue that advances LGBTQ+ rights and acceptance within Philippine society.
