SAN MARTIN, VILLANUEVA — The Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office under the leadership of acting provincial director PCol. Al Abanales in coordination with the Regional Civil Security Unit 10 headed by PCol. Jeffrey Bilaro, and the Regional Explosive Canine Unit 10 successfully conducted the safe disposal of confiscated illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices seized during the recent Yuletide season, held at Firing Range, Provincial Headquarters, Brgy. San Martin, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, on January 7, 2026.
A total of P36,500 worth of assorted illegal firecrackers confiscated within the province of Misamis Oriental were disposed while P56,000 worth of illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices confiscated by RCSU 10 were likewise safely destroyed during the activity.
The event was witnessed by representatives from the local government unit of Villanueva, the Bureau of Fire Protection and members of the media.
Abanales stressed that the successful disposal of illegal firecrackers reflects the PNP’s firm commitment to public safety and law enforcement.
“This activity is a testament of our unwavering commitment to protect the lives and properties of our people. By removing these illegal firecrackers from our communities, we significantly reduce the risk of injuries, fires, and other preventable incidents for a safer Misamis Oriental,” he said.
He further emphasized that the cooperation between the police and the community played an important role in the successful implementation of the campaign against illegal firecrackers. MISOR PPO PIO
