MINDEX GETS MODERN E-JEEPNEYS FOR CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO — The city’s growing commuters will soon be served by e-jeepneys,
a pioneering transport electric vehicle manufactured by E-Future Motors Philippines for the Mindanao Daily Express Transport Cooperative (MINDEX).

Dante Sudaria, Chairman of the Board of MINDEX said these electric transport vehicles will change the transport landscape of Cagayan de Oro.

“As the first transport cooperative to operate e-jeepneys, MINDEX serves as the forerunner to showcase these type of transport vehicles which are eco-friendly transport, a sustainable alternative to traditional public transportation”,
Sudaria said.

Built to be tougher and better, this revolutionary eco-friendly vehicle is designed for all weather conditions.

MiNDEX will be the transport cooperative in Cagayan de Oro to fully implement green routes for public transport, the Chairman of MINDEX said who is also the Publisher and CEO of Mindanao Daily group of newspapers.

These units are supplied by Chinese-Korean electric vehicle company e-Future Motors Philippines.

“Our operators can really save on cost by using e-jeep. At the same time, it is environment-friendly,” E-Future Motors CEO Bongkyun Shin said.

Compared to internal combustion engines, all-electric motors feature fewer moving parts —which can mean less maintenance and lower routine maintenance costs, Shin said.

These motors do not require starters, fuel pumps, and exhaust systems, so drivers don’t have to worry about these components wearing out over time, he added.

Electric vehicles are going to eliminate the end-of-tailpipe emissions.

As more electric vehicles hum past on city streets of Cagayan de Oro, and more charging stations appear on roads and in parking garages, it is easy to imagine that we are winning the fight against climate change, Sudaria said.
