MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Paglaum Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia told employees during the regular flag raising ceremony at the Provincial Capitol Grounds that Jesus Christ is always the solution to their problems.
Unabia said in everything, the Almighty should be in everyone’s heart. “He is always there nag tan-aw kanato,” the Governor said.
Unabia also challenged everyone to always be a solution. “Like the policemen. If there is chaos, the police are always there as a solution. So ato kanunay i-encourage ang tanan to always be a solution.
EMPLOYMENT ABROAD
Governor Unabia announced that the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has allocated over a hundred qualified workers from the province to be sent abroad to work.
He said each employee is able to earn P60,000 net income and this could be a big help to the family.
An estimated 130 qualified workers from the province will be sent overseas and hopefully more in the coming years.
NURSING COURSE
The governor has also announced that MSU-Naawan is offering a nursing course but this needs the help of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
“I committed P6 Million for the faculty. Kami na ang bahala sa mga books ug miscellaneous,” Governor Unabia said.
He also encouraged the municipal mayors to sponsor a nursing student in their municipality to help subsidize the expenses of qualified poor but deserving students.
TRANSFER OF PDLS
Governor Unabia announced that Prisoners Deprived of Liberty in the provincial jail will soon be transferred at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)
This will help decongest the provincial jail and also lessen the problems of hygiene and sanitation.
“Nagsugod na ang transfer sa PDLs. Dili nato forte ang paghandle sa mga PDLs. Dili nato kaya,” Governor Unabia explained.
