CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA) — A total of 70 individuals from Barangays Lanise and Mat-i of Claveria town benefited from the consumer store projects of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10, shared Lawyer Russel A. Jallorina of DOLE during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on September 17.
The first semester of the year saw the launch of Project ALIMA (Assistance to Lumads through Interventions from Multiple Agencies) at Barangays Mat-i and Lanise, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, which included the P2 million consumer store project. The DOLE Undersecretary, Lawyer Felipe N. Egargo, Jr., led the turnover of this project, which is also under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Project (DILP).
During the launch, DOLE-10 also handed over P2.6 million in stipends to 52 interns under the Government Internship Program (GIP) and P5.8 million in total wages to 300 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program.
Moreover, the regional office held a series of TUPAD payouts in September.
Angely Pabilona, 44, shared that she is very happy to receive her payout on September 16.
“Gamiton nako siya pampalit sa gamit sa akoang mga anak (I will use the money for the school supplies of my kids),” she said.
Pabilona lives in Cagayan de Oro City and usually spends her daily life sewing as both a pastime and an activity, which she can also earn in commission.
During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, Jallorina shared that DOLE, together with its field offices, continuously delivers its various products and services to beneficiaries.
