AT least six gasoline stations have already been issued show cause orders and were asked to submit incident reports after they were found to have committed violations of regulations during fuel price monitoring.
This action demonstrates the government’s firm effort to protect consumers and to ensure that market prices remain fair and reasonable.
Due to the sudden increase in fuel prices, leaders and representatives from various agencies also convened to strengthen monitoring and ensure that the welfare of the public is protected.
“Ang presyo sa fuel dili lamang makaapekto sa mga motorista,” Councilor Christopher Goking, chairman of trade and commerce said. “Ang epekto niini moabot sa tanang sektor sa katilingban, gikan sa transportasyon, suplay sa pagkaon, hangtod sa gagmayng negosyo ug sa panginabuhi sa matag pamilya.”
“Busa importante nga ang mga lider magpabiling mabinantayon, magtinabangay, ug magpadayon sa pagmonitor aron masiguro nga ang interes sa katawhan maoy pirming unahon,” Goking added.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Department of Energy Mindanao Field Office: Atty. Remie Anne Estacio, John Waltz Suan, and Jodelle Osorio, who traveled from Davao City; Atty. Jose Edgardo Egay Uy, Vice President of the Cagayan de Oro Price Coordinating Council; Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, Chairman for Consumer Protection; along with our colleagues from the DTI—Provincial Director Jesusa Abear and Loraine Brillantes.
Also present were the managers of CEEBDA: Jane Alavanza Abejo (Puerto Market), Jojie Aibar (Carmen Market), Maria Gina Madrelejos and Mary Ann Tagarda (Cogon Market), and Allan Fernandez (Bulua Vegetable Landing), together with representatives from the City Finance Office: Edsel Balintag, Daryl Malazarte and Jeddy Pacana.
“Tinguhaon ta ang pag hatag importansya sa panginahanglanon arun sa hapsay ug maayong kaugmaon,” Goking concluded.
