MAGUING, Lanao del Sur – Mayor Fahad Delna Molok of Maguing municipality said that dividing Maguing town for the creation of another town is definitely not an option.
In an exclusive interview with Mayor Molok, he said Maguing is only a second class municipality and dividing it to create another municipality would make it a 4th class municipality.
“Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit gusto nilang ma-divide ang lungsod ng Maguing na maliit na bayan lamang ito. In fact, this is only a second-class municipality,” Mayor Molok explained.
He said there are quarters who are pushing to make Maguing two separate towns and he cannot see clearly what their motives are.
CAMPS
Mayor Fahad said in Maguing, there are camps of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and other armed groups.
He said many groups have already sent their petition informing the BARMM region that they are against the creation of another town.
BASIC SERVICES
The mayor also clarified they have delivered the services equitably in the municipality so there is no reason to claim for separation from Maguing town.
“Kung ilang gitan-aw nga wala nato nadeliver ang basic services ila nanang katungod. Ang ako lang nga murag dili mao ang ilang giplano nga masiak ang lungsod sa Maguing,” he claimed.
He hopes that the BARMM leadership should consider giving more projects for Maguing so that they can make Maguing a first class municipality in the next few years. Â ##
