GOV. Imelda Dimaporo leads the six-day 65th Araw ng Lanao del Norte celebrations, a highlight of which is Sagayan Festival 2024 on July 2 participated by six contingents.
In 1959, Republic Act 2228 was passed, partitioning Lanao into two provinces: Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur. A visionary, courageous yet compassionate leader, that is how Dimaporo is known by her constituents. Dimaporo continues to find ways for more sustainable development with the province’s infrastructures. It was she who fought for the realization of the Panguil Bay Bridge that will connect the province to Misamis Occidental.
Under her leadership, Lanao del Norte received various awards and citations recognizing its efforts and actions for development and change. Now in her third and last term as governor, Dimaporo continues her marks on the following development thrusts: economic expansion in agri-fisheries and eco-cultural tourism, equitable access to education, health and social services, sustainable peace, public order and safety, preservation of an environmentally critical ecosystem and efficient people-centered governance.
