A significant partnership has been forged between Cagayan de Oro College (COC) and the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental to boost education in the province. The agreement was finalized during a courtesy visit to Governor Juliette T. Uy’s office on August 12, 2025.

The partnership includes a scholarship program for Misamis Oriental youth, with COC’s branch schools in Iligan City and Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City, offering opportunities for deserving students. COC also plans to establish a research program at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ) to enhance jail management, rehabilitation, and public safety. Dr. Gerry Janubas Caño, Dean of Criminology and Criminal Justice at PHINMA Education Cagayan de Oro College, highlighted the importance of this initiative in maintaining peace and order, a crucial factor for economic development.
