PRIDE and joy filled Mayor Klarex Uy and the local government as they formally turned over the new covered court to Baikingon Elementary School on Thursday, May 7, this year, in Barangay Baikingon.
The covered court costs ₱10.3 million and is now fully equipped with facilities such as a stage, bleachers, ramps and railings for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), separate dressing rooms for men and women, as well as complete electrical wiring and lighting.

Barangay Captain Ronello ‘Jao’ Gumapac expressed his deep gratitude for the project, saying it would greatly benefit the youth and students of the barangay.
According to City Engineer Joel Momongan, the covered court was designed not only for school activities but also to serve as an evacuation center for residents of Barangay Baikingon during disasters.
Elsa Tahud, principal of Baikingon Elementary School, also happily accepted the project.
She said they would no longer need to borrow the barangay’s covered court because they now have their own facility for school programs and activities.
In his closing message, Mayor Klarex revealed that the covered court is one of the promises he fulfilled for the residents of Barangay Baikingon and would help ensure the continuation of children’s face-to-face classes during hot weather or rain.
The school also pledged to take good care of and properly use the covered court so it can continue to be a place of learning, joy, and success for future generations. (MDS/CIO/Photos by: Jhoanne Abejo & aerial shots by Kim Zaldivar / CIO)
