THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in Northern Mindanao achieved several key outcomes.
Its helpdesk assisted 17,128 individuals, and 1,992 people received legal aid and counseling.
The department also facilitated the repatriation of 439 individuals.
The DMW also conducted 87 anti-trafficking in persons seminars and held 37 pre-employment orientation seminars.
For conflict resolution, the department handled 751 conciliation-mediation cases under the SENA program, with 499 cases resolved.
Additionally, 177 cases were withdrawn or dropped, and 75 cases were referred to other entities.
The total settlement amount reached P18,547,655.
DMW 10 director Fidel Macauyag also said that they build partnerships to further expand the livelihood and employment options of OFWs and their families.
They will also launch programs for senior OFWs as a way of honoring their sacrifices and helping them fully enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Fidel Macauyag outlined the range of services provided by the DMW.
These services include processing overseas employment certificates and other related employment documents as well as issuing job fair authorities and monitoring job fair activities.
The department also offers legal assistance for money claims and helps in filing complaints with appropriate law enforcement agencies regarding Illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons.
Additionally, the department conducts surveillance on illegal recruiters, works to close down business establishments involved in illegal recruitment activities, and facilitates mediation through the single entry approach.
They also provide assistance for repatriation and perform initial investigations into recruitment violations by agencies.
Macauyag also outlined the components of their reintegration programs.
These programs feature financial awareness seminars aimed at enhancing financial literacy.
They also include the evaluation of applications and distribution of benefits under the Livelihood Program for OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) Reintegration.
Additionally, the programs involve distributing benefits under the SPIMS Program to qualified teacher beneficiaries and providing Aksyon Fund support to eligible OFWs and their families.
DMW-10 also supported 68 beneficiaries through the Livelihood Development Assistance Program.
Additionally, 139 individuals benefited from the Sa Pinas Ikaw ang Maam/Sir program, and 212 received assistance from the Balik Pinay Bagong Hanapbuhay program.
The Aksyon Fund helped 24 beneficiaries.
Furthermore, 562 participants took part in financial awareness seminars and small business management training. PHILIPPINE INFORMATION AGENCY
