CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The 31st PTAA Travel Tour Expo VisMin edition opened at the Atrium of Limketkai Center yesterday with lots of developments and newest travel promos from various travel companies.
The opening of the 3-day travel expo was also graced by Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar, Department of Tourism Undersecretary; Evangeline Tankiang Manotok CPA, MPA and President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA); DOT X Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan; Erlinda S. Unabia Co-chairperson of the Provincial Tourism Council & First Lady of Misamis Oriental; and officials of Cagayan de Oro.
DOT X Regional Director Marie Elaine S. Unchuan welcomed the participation of travel and tourism stakeholders and participating travel agencies and tour operators from all over the country.
Unchuan sid the 31st PTAA Travel Tour Expo VisMin edition is a great help not only in Northern Mindanao but also throughout the Mindanao Island to showcase the many wonders of the region as far as tourism is concerned.
Evangeline Tankiang Manotok CPA, MPA President of PTAA also said that the travel and expo is a better venue for everyone involved in travel and tourism.
She said the success of the 31st PTAA Travel Tour Expo VisMin edition is not only aimed at gathering all the travel agencies and tour operators but it is also a venue to help the Mindanao region showcase its potential tourist destinations to the world.
Myra Paz Valderrosa-Abubakar Department of Tourism Undersecretary also congratulated the very successful holding of the first ever travel
and tour expo in Mindanao.
She said PTAA was established in 1993 and now it has grown from an annual market to its members. It has gone out from the confines of the metro to Visayas and Mindanao. The world is more than ready to showcase the true colors of the beautiful Mindanao island.
Erlinda Unabia, wife of Misamis Oriental Governor Unabia and Co-chairperson of the Provincial Tourism Council also added that the comprehensive vision of Governor Unabia for tourism development in Misamis Oriental gained positive results.
She said that Governor Unabia was a visionary leader who has seen the many potentials of the province in tourism developments and many other aspects of tourism to promote the province and its tourist destinations.
City Councilor Jay Pascual thanked the dedication of travel agencies and travel operators who participated in the 31st PTAA Travel Tour Expo VisMin edition, adding that they play very important roles in the success of travelers here and abroad.
He said the travelers are very lucky that there are travel agencies and tour operators to assist them not to be scammed and to have a safe flight and meaningful travel and vacation.
“Everytime that we choose you we also choose our safety. Congratulations on your 31st PTAA Travel Tour Expo VisMin edition. Welcome to Cagayan de Oro City,” Councilor Pascual said.
