LAWYER Eldo Pabatao – chief of staff of Cagayan de Oro Water District interim general manager Fermin Jarales – receives a petition from 17,228 Kagay-anons demanding the nullity of a 2017 contract authorizing Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water, Inc. to be the potable surface water supplier of distribution utility Cagayan de Oro Water District.
Organized by former Councilor Enrico Salcedo, the concerned Cagayan de Oro City residents under the banner of Bantay Tubig Movement are opposing a clause in the contract mandating an automatic rate increase every three years.
