AS Sulu transitions itself from BARMM to Zamboanga peninsula, the provincial’s Philippine Councilors League president expressed enthusiasm for the days ahead.
“There’s a lot of work to be done. And in behalf of our province, we are definitely looking forward working with our new host region,” Lugus, Sulu councilor Alexandra Hayudini said during a November 19 interview.
Hayudini and 429 other councilors all over Mindanao are currently here in Cagayan de Oro City for the island-wide chapter officers training and regional reorganization.
Hayudini is the PCL president of Sulu which comprises 19 municipalities.
As head of the councilors in her province, Hayudini said she is lobbying before the Regional Development Council (RDC) to boost tourism in Sulu.
She said that Sulu has nice rock formations, walls and coastal sights that are tourism magnets.
Hayudini also said that Sulu badly needs flood control projects that they want to be recommended by RDC to the national government.
President Marcos has formally declared the province of Sulu as part of Region IX or Zamboanga Peninsula and no longer under the jurisdiction of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), following the Supreme Court’s final ruling.
