The City Education and Development Office (CEDO) has officially launched its first-ever City Education Innovation Week, highlighted by the opening of the Relevant Industry Skills for Employment–Technical Vocational Education Training (RISE-TVET) Caravan on Tuesday, November 18, at the City Tourism Hall.

The caravan showcased various NC II courses offered under the RISE-TVET scholarship program, including Barista Coffee Roasting and Latte Art, Bartending, Bread and Pastry Production, Computer Systems Servicing, Cookery, Driving, Food and Beverage Services, Heavy Equipment Operation, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding, among others.

Participants included Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and students from the city’s upland barangays, who attended the event to explore possible courses they may enroll in.

Present during the opening were City Social Welfare and Development Department Officer Annie Tongson, DSWD Region X 4Ps City Link Jannah M. Khalil, TESDA Region X representative Dr. Marigold Cherie R. Garrido, and CDO RISE-TVET President Lorimer Angeles.

Acting CEDO Department Manager Richel Petalcurin-Dahay also encouraged out-of-school youth and unemployed Kagay-anons aged 18 and above to visit the City Tourism Hall to learn more about available training opportunities. The caravan will run until November 19.

The program aims to provide equal educational opportunities and equip Kagay-anons with employable skills aligned with industry needs.
