CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City — Police Regional Office 10 successfully intercepted PhP480,000,00 worth of smuggled cigarettes and apprehended three individuals in two separate operations conducted in Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte on November 18 and 19, 2025.
On November 18, 2025, personnel of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office (MOCPPO), together with the Ozamiz City Police Station and the Philippine Coast Guard, conducted an inspection at the Ozamiz City Seaport in Barangay Baybay Triunfo, Ozamiz City, A routine x-ray baggage scan led to the interception of alias “Mali,” 37, a tricycle driver and resident of Tangkal, Lanao del Norte. transporting smuggled cigarettes from Munai, Lanao del Norte, to Ozamiz City for shipment to Cebu.

Confiscated from his possession were 80 reams of New Berlin cigarettes, 50 reams of New Far cigarettes, and 20 reams of Cannon Menthol cigarettes, totaling 150 reams worth Php 120,000. The seized items were brought to the 2nd PMFC for safekeeping and will be turned over to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) District Office in Ozamiz City for proper disposition.
On November 19, 2025, personnel of the 4th Platoon, 2nd PMFC LDN conducted a checkpoint in Barangay Bansarvil 1, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. Officers flagged down a sedan driven by alias “Sai,” 44, with passenger alias “Ali,” 34. During inspection, operatives noticed the vehicle’s floor matting was raised, revealing a compartment containing a box of suspected smuggled cigarettes. The driver failed to present any legal documents.

Confiscated items included 5 master cases of New Far-Red 250 reams, 1 master case of Fort White 50 reams, and 3 master cases of New Berlin Red 150 reams, for a total of 450 reams worth an estimated value of PhP360,000,00. The arrested suspects and vehicle are in the custody of Kapatagan Municipal Police, while the seized cigarettes will be turned over to the BOC in Iligan City for proper disposition.
PBGEN CHRISTOPHER N ABRAHANO, Regional Director, PRO10, commended the personnel for their swift and coordinated action.
