THE Cagayan de Oro 1st Engineering District of the Department of Public Works and Highways has acted on the complaints of residents and motorists.
According to Rhea Pelaez, district engineering spokesperson, the problem raised last May regarding the muddy road in Canitoan due to a broken water pipe has been resolved.
Pelaez said that leakage in the area was the reason for the flooding in the vicinity and DPWH has already filled it with soil and paved it last week.
It was learned that as early as March, the DPWH had already called the attention of the water utility of the leak that caused artificial flooding in the area.
Because of the hassle it posed to the community, the DPWH city first district under Engr. Ana Lee Manzano unanimously resolved the problem without waiting for the utility to act upon it.
The DPWH remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the timely delivery of infrastructure projects that serve the Filipino people.
