Six Bukidnon towns warmly embrace political newbie Engr. Earl Navarro

ALMOST 4,000 people from six municipalities in Bukidnon filled Manolo Fortich gymnasium to its capacity Sunday night (October 6) and braved the rains to welcome first district congressional candidate Engr. Earl Navarro.

Although a neophyte in politics, the civil engineer by profession is no stranger to community service.

Navarro fished out from his own pocket to pave a dirt road in barangay Pualas, Baungon town in 2023.

“Nagpasalamat ako kang Engr. Navarro kay siya ra g’yud ang nakasulbad sa among problema sa dalan,” remarked one resident in a video testimonial played during the launch of his candidacy.

Navarro’s seasoned experience as a construction contractor has largely influenced his decision to run.

“While touring the first district of the province, nakita nako ang problema sa katawhan. Dili kay dalan lang, pati panubig ug uban pa,” he said in his speech during the event.

It is in these town halls that people have started admiring him and being open to the idea of a new leader that can best represent their district.

For over a decade now, the first district of Bukidnon has been represented only by one family with only the names changing due to term limits.

Yet this has not entirely solved the plight of the residents in the area comprising the municipalities of Manolo Fortich, Sumilao, Malitbog, Libona, Baungon and Talakag.

With the entry of Navarro into politics, residents have crested their hope.

“Dili nako talikdan ang inyong panawagan. We’re in this cause together,” Navarro said.
