CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy joined top officials of Misamis Oriental province and the rest of Northern Mindanao in a consultation hosted by the Regional Development Council (RDC) 10 in one of the city’s hotels on Tuesday, February 3.
The consultation – covering budget preparations for fiscal year 2027 – served as a platform for local governments and private sector stakeholders to review and provide substantive feedback on ongoing and proposed priority programs, activities and projects of regional offices of national government agencies and offices.

Joining Mayor Uy were Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy, Misamis Occidental Governor and concurrent RDC 10 chairperson Henry Oaminal, DepDev 10 regional director Mylah Faye Aurora Cariño and representatives from the private sector and civil society.
Oaminal said proposals must be anchored on the Northern Mindanao Regional Development Plan 2023-2028 survey as the region’s roadmap toward inclusive growth, poverty reduction, improved connectivity, strengthened human capital and continued climate and disasters resilience.

Meanwhile, Cariño explained that there are established processes from planning through budget processing, including ensuring proper implementation, monitoring guidelines, and assessment of all projects.

Breakout sessions were conducted for the sectors composed of the Economic, Social, Macro & Development Administration and Infrastructure & Utilities Development Committees.
Among these is the focus on developing the Mindanao Railway Project plan and strengthening industries such as steel, halal, and semiconductors.
