THE Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has approved the ₱100-million upgrading of the Opol Boardwalk in Misamis Oriental.
In a letter dated Oct. 22, 2025, addressed to Mayor Jayfrancis D. Bago, TIEZA Assistant Chief Operating Officer Engr. Gregory A. Oller said the project may proceed once the municipality submits the Detailed Engineering Design and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Environmental Compliance Certificate or Certificate of Non-Coverage.
He added that the detailed engineering design should be submitted within 60 days and that TIEZA cannot move forward with implementation until the requirements are met. (LGU Opol/PIA/Collage: BWM)
