ON January 11, Cagayan de Oro City first district Rep. Lordan Suan led the turnover to the Department of Education (DepEd) a new covered court inside Kauswagan Central School that his office has funded for construction.
“With this new covered court, we need not go to other venues anymore for our activities such as Moving Up student rites,” remarked principal Alma Peronia in her speech of gratitude.
The P10-million worth of facility is a 12×18-meter covered court with a stage, wall cladding wrapped around the columns up to the trusses and a lined canal with metal frames and gratings.
The wall cladding is a trademark among all Suan-funded covered court projects in the first district, giving the edifices not just a modern vibe but most importantly, structural reliability that would last decades long after his term has ended.
It is an infrastructure legacy that Suan intends to pass on his constituents even as he continues his priority legislative duties at the House of Representatives.
