N. Mindanao MSMEs get P7.2-M support

THE Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Oro Chamber) on Monday launched a PHP7.2 million state-of-the-art Shared Service Facility (SSF) for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Northern Mindanao.

Almarico Brito, Oro Chamber president, said the SSF aims to support the labeling and packaging needs of MSMEs in the region.

The facility was funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to empower all MSMEs in the region, not just chamber members. It will open to the public next month.

“You input a digital design and the CNC (computer numerical control) router executes it precisely, like a tireless robotic craftsman,” Brito said in an interview.

Now dubbed the Oro Best Creative and Mindspace Center, the facility is designed to provide MSMEs with access to advanced equipment and technical support under a shared-use system.

Meanwhile, the Oro Chamber is preparing for two landmark events over the next 12 months.

First, the organization will celebrate its 40th anniversary in two months by honoring all living former chamber presidents and the release of a commemorative coffee table book covering its history and milestones since 1985.

Additionally, the city will host the Mindanao Business Conference (MinBizCon) in July 2026, which will be led by the Oro Chamber.

MinBizCon is Mindanao’s largest annual gathering of business leaders and stakeholders. The conference will also feature local product champions via trade exhibits to attract local and international investors. (PNA)
