FORMER Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno, who is in his comeback bid this election, met with urban poor informal settlers April 28 in his office.
Moreno said he is aiming for these landless occupants to have their premises titled.
The former mayor explained that there are two resettlement programs of the city government – onsite and offsite relocation.
He said that the ideal setup of an onsite relocation will be vertical housing so that there will be still be space for investors to come in and the economy of the area will boom.
Moreno is pushing for the turnover of new units and ultimately the individual titles for each respective relocatee so that it will inspire others affected by similar situations.
Social housing is one of the priorities once Moreno wins the election and reassumes office.
