Moreno holds town hall near unused city hospital

FORMER Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno met residents in barangay Tablon March 31 as he vowed to open the new but unused city hospital in the vicinity.

This as former and current administration officials took turns blaming each other on the current status of the Tablon city hospital.

In an interview later in the afternoon, Councilor Edgar Cabanlas said the simultaneous construction of two city hospitals in Tablon and barangay Lumbia has put a strain on the city’s budget.

But Moreno said in the morning that the current administration has failed to continue the project by securing relocation of affected residents.

In the meeting, the former mayor assured the residents that their structures will never be demolished in a Moreno administration unless they have been relocated already.

He said a new elected city government has a lot of options to consider once the project gets moving again.

“Tanan butang walay dili mahimo. Tanan butang mapangitaan og pamaagi. This is what I mean by participatory and inclusive governance. It is a collaboration of all stakeholders,” Moreno said.
