“Almost all sectors in our society, women are working,” Unabia said.
This, as Unabia was surprised by her husband Gov. Peter Unabia who showered her with a bouquet of flowers during the provincial government’s kickoff of Women’s Month. The occasion also doubled as Ms. Unabia’s birthday celebration.
Government agencies and local government units in Northern Mindanao kicked off the National Women’s Month celebration on Monday, highlighting initiatives to promote inclusivity and gender equality.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-10, alongside the Men Opposed to Violence Against Women Everywhere and other agencies, launched the celebration with a motorcade at the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) headquarters.
DSWD-10 Director Ramel Jamen stressed the importance of advancing policies and programs that empower women and promote gender equality.
