THE Municipality of Laguindingan held the Tabako Festival 2025 with the theme: “Unity Among Farmers for Sustainable Development.”
The event began with a Grand Parade led by local officials, students, and community organizations. Participants showcased the importance of tobacco through Street Dancing performances.
In his message, Laguindingan Mayor Atty. Roy Macua expressed his deep gratitude to everyone who attended the celebration. He emphasized that the Tabako Festival is not just a festivity but also a reminder that farmers are the true heroes behind the town’s progress.
Mayor Macua further stated that the local government continues to provide support through various programs and projects aimed at improving the lives of the farmers in Laguindingan.
Representing Governor Juliette Uy at the event was Provincial Tourism Office OIC Ms. Cinderella Obeñita, along with representatives from the Department of Tourism Region X and the Department of Education.
Through the Tabako Festival, the people demonstrated their continuing support for the tobacco industry, which serves as a vital source of livelihood and development for the town.
It is worth noting that Governor Juliette Uy has long been a strong supporter of the agriculture sector, working to uplift the livelihoods of every Misamisnon.
