THE partylist composed of Filipino reservists Laang Kawal kicked off its election campaign February 14 in Cagayan de Oro City.
During the rally, first nominee Lt. Col. Jaime Roberto Almario (Res) reiterated their stance for the amendment of Republic Act 7077, otherwise known as the Philippine Reservist Act.
Almario said there is a need for allowances, insurance and logistics to be given to reservists in the country.
Almario lamented that the 1.6 million reservists in the country do not have adequate logistical support.
“They do not even have firearms. Our country’s reserve force needs to be equipped and sustained. They are our homeland frontliners,” he said.
