Initao athlete snatches Misor’s first gold in SEA Games 2025

THE first gold medalist from the Province of Misamis Oriental at the 2025 Thailand Asian (SEA) Games was garnered by Jeff Leonard “Jeffloy” Hortelano from Initao, Misamis Oriental.


Hortelano delivered a historic achievement by securing the first gold medal for the province at the 2025 SEA Games held in Thailand. Competing in the sport of Ultimate Frisbee (Flying Disc), he is a prominent Philippine athlete who proudly represented the Philippines Mixed National Ultimate Frisbee Team on the international stage.

Earlier, Janry Ubas of Villanueva town won the Silver Medal in the Long Jump (Decathlon) at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.

And lastly, Jo Nathalie Razalo, from Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, and a member of the Philippine Women’s National Handball Team, has proudly represented the country in the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held in Pattaya, Thailand, in December 2025.

Through determination and teamwork, the national squad successfully secured the bronze medal, marking a significant achievement for Philippine handball. PIO
