The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office X reported during the press conference held on 12 February 2026 that Northern Mindanao’s inflation rate accelerated to 1.4 percent in January 2026, from 0.9 percent in December 2025.
According to PSA 10 chief statistical specialist Sarah Balagbis, the main drivers behind the acceleration of inflation in January 2026 were the acceleration of inflation of utilities with an inflation rate of 4.8 percent and the slower decrease of the average prices of food and non-alcoholic Beverages with an inflation of -0.8 percent.
Also contributing to the inflation were restaurants and accommodation Services at 3.2 percent and health at 6.4 percent. PIA PHOTO
