SPEARHEADED by the National Anti-Poverty Commission, government agencies and LGUs from Northern Mindanao convened November 20 for a regional inter-agency meeting aimed at creating a Regional Technical Working Group to combat poverty.
The data on the state of poverty in Northern Mindanao was presented, and the approaches and mechanisms to strengthen collaboration among government agencies were discussed.
“We need to do, to give more initiative, to do initiative that we can be a member, we can be a member of those people to reduce a poverty problem,” Misamis Oriental board member Princess Emano said. “By hitting the target of ten percent by year 2028 is not impossible by doing, by giving, by extra services to the people of where we are into.”
“Ten thousand families is what we are targeting by year 2028. And according to SEC, we are now
from year 2023, we are at 15.5 percent. So far so good,” Emano added.
Finally, the officials expressed their commitment to attending the quarterly meetings for a more effective plan against poverty. PIA
