As micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) transition to the New Normal, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) MIMAROPA Region invited 37 Negosyo Center Business Counselors and other DTI employees to undergo a five-day Small Business Counselors Course (SBCC) on Business Diagnosing from August 8-12, 2022 in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.
SBCC is an intensive training designed to equip the participants with the right tools, theories, and experience in conducting consultancy. It is composed of a series of lectures and workshops on marketing, finance, operations, production, human resource, digitalization, greening, and business continuity, facilitated by industry leaders and experts in the related fields. This will allow DTI MIMAROPA’s economic front liners to acquire expert-led training on Business Advisory, one of the core functions of a Negosyo Center Business Counselor.
DTI MIMAROPA Regional Director Joel B. Valera said that this initiative is part of the multi-pronged approach of DTI MIMAROPA in achieving a digitally inclusive and progressive environment for MSMEs post-pandemic.
Ms. Crispina Almonte of the Monte Fam Ventures served as the lead resource speaker throughout the five-day program. She was accompanied by Dean Claverita Araneta of the Divine Word College of San Jose to discuss financial management, and DTI MIMAROPA Assistant Regional Director Rodolfo Mariposque who discussed digitalization, market competition, public economics, and DTI’s new 10-point agenda.
As a culmination of the learning discussions and workshops, the participants underwent an immersion to experience the real-life application of the modules by preparing an enterprise assessment plan for the purposively selected MSMEs.
To date, DTI MIMAROPA has established 61 Negosyo Centers across Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
