DTI and Fisher Mall Launch a 12-day BagsakanĀ 

The Department of Trade and Industry through its Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) is partnering with Fisher Mall in mounting a Bagsakan event on August 20 to 31 at the Event Center, Upper Ground Floor of Fisher Mall in Quezon Ave., Quezon City. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with DTI officials and the Fisher Mall management is scheduled on August 22, 11 a.m. at the venue.

In coordination with the DTI Regional Operations Group, the event will showcase the best products of 37 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Pangasinan, Bataan, Laguna, Cavite, Quezon, Rizal, Sorsogon, Cebu, Samar, Zamboanga City, Davao Del Sur and the NCR. Consumers, traders, distributors, resellers and institutional buyers from the North NCR and nearby provinces can enjoy great selection of authentic Filipino delicacies, seafood products, processed and frozen meat products, fresh fruits and vegetables, pastries, snacks, healthy beverages, fruit wines, coconut-based products, varieties of Philippine coffee, health and wellness products, home dƩcor and furnishings, fashion accessories, gift and souvenir items, and more.

In partnership with Mayani.ph, a farm-to-table e-commerce platform, buyers and consumers can also purchase high volume of fresh produce from the Cagayan Valley region. Bundles of fresh fruits, vegetables, and root crops by smallholders farmers, fruit growers and social cooperatives will be on sale. Pre-orders will be accepted soon at www.mayani.ph/gb.

For 2022, the BDTP has chalked up 17 Bagsakan activities in collaboration with commercial partners and the DTI Regional Operations Group. As a crisis-response initiative to help ensure the supply of food and essential products while sustaining the livelihoods of farmer groups, small enterprises and social coops, the Bagsakan project has now realized Php 76.62 million in sales and assisted 310 small entrepreneurs from various regions since March 2020. The BDTP continues to explore and build new partnerships for various Bagsakan opportunities that will help MSMEs, farmers and cooperatives generate income amid the pandemic and thereby stimulate the economy.
