It was my great honor to be Inducting Officer and Guest Speaker during the grand Changover Ceremonies of the Rotary Club of Cotabato East before a jampacked crowd of Rotarians and community leaders.
I expressed my long-held view that Rotarians are, in fact, peacemakers.
Not only is Peace and Conflict Resolution one of our areas of focus, I emphasized that all seven (7) areas of focus of Rotary are geared towards peace.
When Rotarians promote the mental health of mothers and their children, build toilets and handwashing facilities, bring clean water to underserved communities, give books to school children, support interfaith dialogues and protect the environment, we advance the causes of peace.
And when Cotabato City is at peace, Mindanao, and the whole nation, gains.
My sincere congratulations to outgoing President Nairah for leading Cotabato East the past Rotary Year with commitment and distinction.
I look forward to working closely with new President Michael as we unite for good and continue to advance the causes of peace.
The Rotary Club of Cotabato East has worked tirelessly for peace for 54 years now. And it will continue to do so this year and for many years to come!
